<description>Diskeeper is employed on our servers and user computers and is set to automatically defragment each computer's disk drives. I find the continuous defragmentation to be helpful in maintaining the I/O of the drives at an optimal level, particularly for the servers.

As we are a data management company, our servers experience a great deal of read/write operations. Diskeeper helps ensure each drive maintains its ability to process write and read requests in the best manner possible. The Diskeeper engine is not CPU intensive and I have observed that it backs off under periods when server or user computer activity is high. Once the activity subsides, Diskeeper returns to processing. As we do consider Diskeeper to be a vital tool, we have made it a requirement for each computer that is used within our company.

Yes I would be able to recommend Diskeeper via email.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>Sure, I’d be glad to answer any questions via email.

I enjoy the performance increase the most from Diskeeper. Not having to schedule and stay on top of defragmentation allows my team to focus more on other items.

Undelete is by far one of the best solutions I’ve found for one click restores. It’s simple and lightweight taking only minutes to install and configure. It saves me much time and money over recalling tapes that are stored offsite at Iron Mountain every time someone accidentally deletes a file.

    <title>Banker Steel Company</title>
<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We run an application that specifically benefits from Diskeeper - a SQL-based large database program that keeps all of its data in one huge file. Diskeeper keeps the drive optimized so efficiently that we’ve noticed a significant decrease in database lockups. Also, our Microsoft Exchange server gets a big boost from Diskeeper.

We have a couple of VMware virtual machines that have gained benefits from Diskeeper too. Most notable is our barcode scanning system that gets hammered by read/write access 24x7. Very seldom have I had to restart the program since Diskeeper was installed.

We were hammering the drives so hard for several reasons. First of all, there was way too much material on one server. It was not unusual to have to do a rebuild of the RAID about once per quarter. But, even now that it’s housed on its own server, there are tens of thousands of writes to the server every day which typically would have caused the need for rebuilding the RAID every couple of months.

All ten of our servers have RAID technology and since Diskeeper was installed about 15 months ago, we have only to rebuild one of the server’s RAID one time.

Our ROI has been in productivity savings. The IT staff does not have to run utility and maintenance programs to keep the servers optimized and running smoothly as when new. This saves us at least 20 IT hours per month. Likewise, because of the continuous optimization of the user programs on the servers, our users have experienced a 99.97% uptime over the past 12 months. The prior 12 months was only about 91% uptime due to all the disk-related issues. I was hired about that time and insisted that we install Diskeeper on all the servers. This has definitely paid off.

    <title>Comprehensive Engineering Services</title>
<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We have a small network with three servers. Two are domain controllers running Server 2008, one is 32bit and the other is 64bit. The final server is 64bit with Exchange 2007. All servers are RAID 5 systems. We have a couple of systems running AutoCAD; most run Microstation.

We have used Diskeeper over the years since version 6, I believe. The new version has been by far the best resource-wise. I actually tend to forget that it’s installed and running. After a fresh install of an O/S on my workstations, running Diskeeper is one of the first things I do, as the systems tend to run much smoother with less disk thrashing. Every once in a while I’ll pull up the console on a system and analyze the drives and always see that they are indeed defragmented and running smoothly."

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>Diskeeper continues to play an important role in keeping both client and server systems optimized for peak performance with minimal management. We see a daily benefit from the InvisiTasking feature, which keeps our systems disk optimized using resources during idle times to insure maximum performance with minimal impact to users.

Right now our deployments are to desktops and Windows 32 or 64-bit Servers. Some servers do use Diskeeper to manage direct attached storage (RAID) arrays of data.

The Diskeeper Administrator allows us to keep our systems in check, minimizing interruption to users and optimizing IT maintenance activities.

I would recommend Diskeeper to anyone responsible for maintaining computer systems.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We do find Diskeeper to be vital and we use it for our virtual servers (VMware) as well. We redirect our user desktops and My Documents folders to network shares and have found the response times improved quite a bit after defragging the virtual server.

We also found that it cuts the time needed to perform a P2V (convert physical machines to virtual) by about 90% if the physical server is defragged beforehand. Case in point, we had a few physical Citrix servers that simply did not want to P2V but simply worked as expected after defrag and very quickly.
Thank you Diskeeper.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We have Sharepoint server farms that carries mutlitple SQL databases on the back end. Before Diskeeper we have to go and defrag these manually using what's built-in Windows 2003. It's slow and time consuming to have to do this quarterly to all the Sharepoint servers and Exchange Servers. With Diskeeper installed and centrally managed by the Administrator I can now view reports, force defrag from one location. The best part is we set the auto-defrag on the hours that the server is being less utilized. With Diskeeper automated 24x7 I can say that it's improved our overall server seek and response performance. Diskeeper works fine in our virtual environment. I would recommend to any shop.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We have Diskeeper installed on eleven Windows 2003 servers. These servers are running a software system called Odyssey, which is developed and marketed by Tyler Technologies of Plano, TX. This system provides a fully integrated Criminal Justice system to over 1,000 users in our government organization. This level of work involves law enforcement, corrections, and local and federal courts.

The cost justification of Diskeeper is that it is well worth the investment. Diskeeper works quietly in the background and optimizes the disk performance of several terabytes of information. Automating this task has proved very beneficial in the 24/7 hour operation of this software system.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We like the fact that Diskeeper is a one time setup and we never have to worry about it. We've used Diskeeper for a long time now in our Windows Server Environment (since 1999). There are very few, if any at all performance issues.

We run Diskeeper on 2 very small servers in each of our retail store locations, approx. 600 sites.

These servers run a RAID 1 array and we schedule Diskeeper to run everyday from 2am to 6am. I don't have any stats to share with you. We average 1 hard drive crash every couple of months on these 1200 systems. So performance and reliability is excellent.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>Since we have installed Diskeeper on our nine servers and over 300 desktop systems our, calls for service has dropped dramatically! We were averaging a little over 10 calls per day and most were related to slow system response. We have maybe 3 calls a week now and none are related to Diskeeper.

Once you install it you can “Set It &amp; Forget It” and really forget about it if you don’t think about it! We use “Smart Scheduling and that seems to work well for us. We are starting to look at upgrading and can not wait to see the new product in action.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We would gladly recommend Diskeeper. FCStone specifically runs this application on our email servers. It allows us to backup our servers nightly. Before using Diskeeper, FCStone could not get the servers backed up. We also experienced slower performance on our email servers. FCStone knows without the application we would spend more on disk space, servers and time to manage our email environment.

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We have been running Diskeeper for about 10 months now. It has greatly exceeded my expectations. Our systems have seen a performance increase of at least 20%.

The InvisiTasking service is what really pushed me towards Diskeeper. There is no system slowdown with Diskeeper since this service only runs when the system is idle and stops as soon as the system becomes active.

We do run Oracle databases. The encryption we use is SafeBoot for our notebooks. I have a daily report emailed to myself on low Disk space and on any activation problems.

The Diskeeper Administrator is also a valuable piece of software because of the ability to manage licenses, perform installs and un-installs and to remote control to the end users Diskeeper software.

    <title>Columbia River Bank</title>
<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>The most useful thing about Diskeeper is it makes keeping our large volumes defragged automatically. I know that is pretty simple sounding, but it has saved me a lot of time.

My primary duties at the bank are either security related or data storage\backup related. Diskeeper was brought in to help performance with backups and data storage. This had to be done in a way that did not hinder the performance of the production machines during our peak business hours, by using up the resources. Diskeeper increased the performance of our servers. Some data replication jobs that took literally days to complete were cut down to less than 12 hours.

We run 75 servers in our environment. Most of them are running Diskeeper. Out of all those servers we have only had one that did not work well with everything we had running on the server.

Diskeeper has probably saved me an average of over 20 hours a month of manual work. Also the performance is better then what I could keep things at.

I have updated all 3 of my servers with the newer version of Undelete. So far, so good. I love the Undelete program; I use it on a regular basis for users who have accidentally deleted something they didn't mean to, as well as our students on campus who are still learning the basics of file saving and deletion, saving to the server versus saving on their laptops, etc.

    <title>Wessin Transport, Inc.</title>
<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>Diskeeper is a great product, the one and only in my opinion, to keep your hard drives running at their optimum. I deal with a number of different networks and the ones I have control over use Diskeeper. I can certainly tell the difference in how computers and servers operate when they are utilizing this defragmenter. The computer rebuilds are much lower, if non-existent, in the Diskeeper networks. They don’t have the slowness and are less ‘doggy’ than the ones without. I find my files open faster, too. I just don’t get complaints that laptops and workstations are not performing well when I run Diskeeper on them.

The newest edition Diskeeper 2009 runs totally in the background. I really like that feature, as I cannot see any degradation in performance and it’s all done ‘silently’. When I am asked to help clean up networks, ect., one of the priorities I have is that servers, workstations and laptops all have a version of Diskeeper running on them.

What I tell my contacts about Diskeeper is that, especially the servers run like new installs 3-4 years after they have been placed into service!

Diskeeper is a product that is not perceived by the end user when it’s installed on a system or a workstation. BUT, when it’s NOT installed, the end user will call and complain that the computer they got just a year earlier is doggy and slow. I notice this from the lack of complaints/help desk calls in that area.

We are running two separate SQL 2005 servers. Our file servers are RAID5. We run Exchange 2003, Citrix and a few other servers onsite, with four servers via VPN in an offsite replication mode.

As a contract-for-hire admin, I let everyone know about Diskeeper and its importance to the overall well being of a network and standalone computers. Two of my clients are churches/schools that use an earlier version of Diskeeper. I was able to sell them on Diskeeper a few years ago and many of their day-to-day problems went away! Even the older computers, like the 1 Ghz models they had, worked very well alongside the much faster computers. I attribute this not only with keeping up with MS updates, but Diskeeper kept and keeps things in order on the drives. The best thing about this new version is it runs silently in the background with no performance degradation.

The improved admin console is an important tool to have, too. It makes it very easy to deploy and manage all aspects of this software.

I want to add that whenever I have had questions about the product, the tech support personnel are always available to help solve the issues. Diskeeper Corporation is one of the best companies I deal with!

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We are extremely happy with the results we have seen since employing Diskeeper with background InvisiTasking. We have not only seen a major reduction in general software malfunction related service issues directly stemming from the lack of preventive maintenance (defragmentation being the primary); our time to perform necessary services to restore functional operations as well as end user complaints of system slowdowns has been dramatically reduced on systems that are running Diskeeper. We highly recommend using the Diskeeper software specifically due to the fact that it is automated. On my own personal system I never have to stop or end the defragmentation process since it monitors and waits for low CPU utilization times before it activated and it is constantly running, monitoring, and maintaining low fragmentation levels. I do not have to take frequent unscheduled inconvenient breaks to defragment my hard-drive. My computer ‘glitches’ are next to none and my system is far more reliable than before! We purchase a copy with every new computer purchase and we recommend to all our users who have computers that do not have Diskeeper to invest the money and upgrade their system.

I can’t imagine anyone who has done their homework and researched Diskeeper’s technology and track record not to want to use it as a vital part of their data networking infrastructure!

Also; I have to express my sincere pleasure with our account manager who has been very helpful with assisting us with getting this product to us via our OEM computer distributor!

I forgot to mention not only has the number of software related service issues dropped since we began implementing Diskeeper into our Networked environment. But the total overall time to resolve software related issues has been dramatically reduced due to the fact that we do not have to take the time and manually defragment the computers. The InvisiTasking feature of Diskeeper is very efficient and works extremely well. For example; anytime we get a computer that is malfunctioning the first thing we will do is check the fragmentation level of the hard drive. Symantec recommends keeping hard drive fragmentation below 3%. Generally when we get computers brought into our office for service due to random software malfunction (often in the program that the end user use the most.) we will find the computer fragmentation level anywhere from 7-54%. (At 34% or more salvage of the OS is questionable at best). We have seen defragmentation alone correct random software ‘glitches’. Sometimes the offending program itself will need to be uninstalled and re-installed. Regardless the hard drive will have to be defragmented before any further maintenance can take place! Often depending on the level of fragmentation it may take several passes and up to several hours to reach a satisfactory level of fragmentation, or lack thereof! I always shoot for 0%. Depending on the amount of free space available on the hard drive 0% may or may not be achievable.

Bottom line: Diskeeper with InvisiTasking technology saves us time and effort in the never ending battle in the world of IT support!

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>I have been running Diskeeper on my desktop and it has been running very smoothly. It runs transparently to me and you have to love that. I had money put in our budget to make a purchase of 250 Diskeeper Professional licenses last year.

The ability to increast the mft came in handy with version 10. Especially with a LARGE drive, when getting filled up, the MFT was originally built tooo small, causing problems. Diskeeper fixed that problem, not to mention the dragging of a fragmenteed disk fixed!! I don not even really think about it any more since I installed it. It just runs, unnoticed! The unnoticed part is the best part.

We truly love the Undelete product for our network too!

<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>We have Diskeeper running on our database servers. We have been using one version or another of Diskeeper for a long time and I think it does increase performance.

We mainly use Diskeeper on our backend database servers which have SANs. Our production system has three enclosures with 15 drives each and I think Diskeeper Server does a fine job of keeping the system defragmented. The data structure and performance views are almost always completely blue every time I look at them.

    <title>Cydex Corporation</title>
<link>http://www.diskeeper.com/products/review/search.aspx</link><description>Diskeeper is absolutely vital ! Our business-critical applications need guaranteed reliability in filesystem performance. Diskeeper’s automated functionality keeps file fragmentation low and disk performance high.

Just last week, a client using one of our complex, enterprise-scale database solutions, reported an unusual error condition — something seemingly implausible [such as unsynchronized transaction updates across several database files] — which, upon further analysis, luckily turned out to simply be caused by filesystem degradation even on recently installed, high-end hardware.

A quick execution of the disk defragmenter resolved the filesystem issues and got our client’s line-of-business application back on-line — and, helped “seal the deal” to deploy Diskeeper across all of their servers.

Diskeeper’s automated functionality is a critical component in guaranteeing the successful operation of mission-critical systems. Our incident of last week is a truly classic example of “Diskeeper technology” being a lifesaver for everybody involved!

Diskeeper would have prevented my client’s situation long before it became a “problem”. [That’s invaluable!] Because of the “must have” qualities of Diskeeper, anybody who is a developer or an I.T. administrator would buy it simply due to the philosophy that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
